Lenticular Watch Invitation
I was privileged to design the first lenticular invitation at Sotheby’s. This was an invitation for a reception and private view for Fine Watches, for the watches department and in association with Montblanc .
The department wanted something different and special, an invitation that would grab attention. What was really great about this invitation is the subject matter, because a watch lends itself so well to the lenticular process. The pocket watch that was to feature on the front of the invitation, was photographed with timed shots, moving from a closed position to an open position, creating flips. I put these flip images into photoshop, putting each flip on a new layer, ready for the printers to work their magic! The back of the invitation was kept simple, using the style guidelines of the Sotheby’s creative department, but given a special and premium feel by being gold foiled on Ebony colorplan. The lenticular image, printed by a specialist printing company, was then duplexed to the back of the invitation. The end result was something incredibly unique and memorable.
