The Whitechapel invitation

Sotheby’s held a fund-raising auction for the expansion of the Whitechapel Gallery. The brief was to design a vibrant, bold, fun pocket fold invitation for the auction party.

I worked with an image by Nan Goldin, that was being sold in the auction, which captured the feel of celebration and exuberance. The image was a starting point and inspiration for the rest of the invitation. Bold green lettering, silver foil highlights, printed on thick white stock and gloss laminated finishing, reflected the energy of the contemporary art being sold in the auction. The pocket fold invitation held the invitation, information sheet, donation form and reply slip.
